Fabric Choice Help!!!

I have an emergency that I am calling out to all you fellow bloggers for help on. It’s a dire predicament which I have been wasting much of my life on without any progress and I am now hoping one of you will be able to help me find my solution for….picking out fabrics for Zenith’s nursery!

I swear this decision has been haunting me in my sleep haha. I’ve been pouring over fabric choices for a while now but just can’t find anything that both Charles and I love and that works with the room!

Here is the basic mood board for Zenith’s nursery;the room is forest themed! The walls will be a medium earthy brown, possibly Weathered Oak by Benjamin Moore. There will be a large birch tree wall decal on one wall. You can see a source list and a bit more detail on the room here.

We are definitely going with Ty Pennington Impressions Plaid Green for Zenith’s crib skirt; that’s the brown and green fabric swatch.

I however cannot determine the fabric for Zenith’s curtains! It’s a rather large window and one of the first things you see when you walk into the room so the right fabric is crucial. The sad thing is I don’t live near a good fabric store so I must buy the fabric online making the decision that much harder.

Initially we really liked Duralee Dalesford Green; the other fabric swatch on the mood board. However, Katie from Bower Power used this fabric in her office on a chair here and it really isn’t as bright as I would like!

Here is the room we are working with. Don’t mind the odd mouldings, the paneling etc. as all that will be fixed once we finish the attic. The room is 10x10 so it’s a decent size but still compact; I took the picture from the doorway. The crib will go along the wall against the right hand side corner, the rocking chair will be angled into the left corner by the window.

Due to the fact of there being so many muted/earth tones, especially in a small room, I would really like the curtain fabric to help brighten/cheer things up so it’s not quite so mellow; at the same time I don’t want anything too overpowering. It’s a very hard line to walk and I keep falling off!! I swear this decision will be the death of me!

A few other options we considered but I’m not fully in love with are:

Ty Pennington Home Decor Impressions Blossom Chartreuse; Charles vetoed this one saying he thinks it will look too busy due to the small pattern. What’s your opinion?

Premier Prints Gotcha White Chartreuse; this one is still in the air but I’m not head over heels for it.

Waverly Sweet Spot Avocado; I’m afraid this might appear too “blah” against the brown walls?

Richloom Trixie Hemlock; Again I’m worried this might be too blah in colour, or perhaps too busy?

Large_Ex-996

Waverly Solar Flare Indigo; I’m not sure how I feel about the blue, or that this might be too overpowering?

And lastly Covington Tradewinds Woven Twill Stripe Island Green; this just seems a little boring in general.

I haven’t fully ruled out any of these fabric choices but I just need someone else’s opinion! What is your guys take on these fabric choices? Do any of you know of any other fabrics I haven’t considered that might just make my heart flitter flutter? Save me!!!
