I’m now 20 weeks pregnant! The halfway mark! I have no clue where time has gone but it sure is rushing by fast and the last 20 weeks will go by even faster I’m sure! Luckily we’ve gotten a nice start on our renovations but we are definitely feeling the time crunch; we have our fingers crossed we get everything done in time!
Being that I’m 20 weeks pregnant we had our latest ultrasound last week on Thursday, April 26th. It was amazzinngg being able to see our beautiful baby and the best part? We were able to find out the babies gender!!!
So what are we having you ask? Well earlier I had blogged about the mood boards I had created for both a boy or a girls room and folks, we have a winner!
That’s right, we are having a BOY! We are absolutely over the moon excited! It’s simply wonderful being able to call our little baby by name now, Zenith, and being able to fully plan the nursery! We’re going to go with a forest theme; I tossed back and forth between wall colours and fabric choices but I think we’ve basically reached a final decision with the above selection!
The wall colour will be Weathered Oak by Benjamin Moore or a similar medium, earthy brown. We’ll be doing a wall decal on one wall of birch trees which will actually end up a beigey colour with the green leaves. Fabric was the hardest choice; we have definitely settled on the green and brown for the crib skirt but we’re still debating the curtain colour which is the other fabric swatch. I’ll also be creating a tree stump end table, making a forest animal mobile, hanging birdhouses on a wall, and incorporating owls, foxes, squirrels etc. in other various forms!
- Birch Tree Wall Stencil by Kinky Wall
- Crib from Walmart
- Green & Beige Fabric is Duralee Dalesford Green
- Green & Brown Fabric is Ty Pennington Impressions Plaid Green
- Shag Rug from Crate & Barrel
- Wood Tables from All Modern
- Forest Mobile Unknown
As for my pregnancy itself this pregnancy so far has been remarkably different than my first pregnancy. I’m not sure if it’s because it is my second pregnancy or maybe because it’s a boy but regardless I have been experiencing a lot more stomach aches with this pregnancy; I realllyyy have to be careful what I eat or I can be out of commission all day. One morning I had an avocado and cheese sandwich for breakfast, baddd mistake! I was sick to my stomach and nauseas for at least half the day, it was horrible!
My cravings have also been quite different with this pregnancy. While with Anna I craved peaches by the truckload and only ever wanted salad and fruit with a small side of shrimp this pregnancy I want pasta, pasta, and more pasta. I’ll often eat pasta twice a day! And if I’m not eating pasta it’s carbs in another form; muffins, toast, they’re all godly! I do try to round out my diet with a good portion of fruits and veggies (strawberries are sooo good!), along with protein, but carbs are definitely my kryptonite!
Lastly has been the body aches. Oh.my.goodness! I swear I’m feeling aches now that I didn’t experience until I was around 30 weeks with Anna! My hips positively feel like they’re going to fall apart on some days! Walking up hills is my nemesis! My back is doing better than it was with Anna however and I’m hoping it stays that way! Despite my 80-year-old hips however I have been trying to exercise more this pregnancy and have been going for daily walks and typically doing strollercize every Monday and Thursday with a bunch of other moms!
Besides the typical pregnancy complaints however everything has been going great and overall I feel wonderful. Our baby is super healthy and we simply cannot wait to meet him!

Congratulations!!! I love seeing the precious ultrasound pictures!!

DeleteWhoa! 20 weeks already!
ReplyDeleteI am SO excited for you. I'm glad that things are a little better/different than last time. I wasn't nearly as sick with my boys as I was with the little girl. What are you thinking for names?! Oh I'm so excited to see a tummy shot! Do it do it do it!
I know, time has positively been flying by! That is interesting that your little girl made you more sick! For me it seems to be the opposite hehe. We'll be naming our little boy Zenith!
DeleteI've been debating posting a tummy shot; I might put up a small post about how I've been photographically documenting my pregnancy ;)
