Ordinary Object Re-Creation Part 2

For this round of ordinary object re-creations I’ll be featuring lace! At my local thrift shop they always have tons and tons of little bits of lace but I never know what to do with them! I always admire them but never bother purchasing them since I don’t know how to use them, well not any more! In this post I’ll be featuring a bunch of different projects you can create using precious bits of lace!

One of my all time favourite lace projects is done by Laura from Decor to Adore, she made some absolutely precious lace napkin rings and they are so simple too! One suggestion was to even turn these into some romantic wrist cuffs instead! You can find a full tutorial here.

Another favourite project is to turn your little lace bits into a chandelier! For a while there was a growing trend of ribbon chandeliers but I love the delicate twist that Andrea Dozier puts on hers!

Along the same lines there have been many fabulous garlands made out of lace perfect to add a feminine touch to a room or a party!

This particular garland/backdrop is made and sold by Andi Mans on Etsy!

Or how about a lace heart garland? Michele shares a fabulous tutorial for how to make your own here!

Speaking of parties why not make some lace crowns for everyone to wear? Aren’t these just soooo adorable?? Stef from Girl.Inspired shares her tutorial for these darling crowns here!

And while your dancing around in your crown why not dress up your manicure as well with some lacey nails? You could create this manicure by cutting out a piece of lace sized to fit your nail then placing a few clear coats over top!

And one of the last, but certainly not least, projects I’m featuring is this fabulous lace pot! This particular pot is for sale at Korin however I’m sure you could DIY your own version by mod podging lace onto a planter then spray painting over it!

Does anyone else here have an obsession with little bits of lace? Have you ever repurposed lace into something new and fabulous? Feel free to share!

  1. Thanks for sharing all of these great ideas in one place. I love the little lace chandelier. It would be a PRECIOUS mobile in a shabby chic nursery. ((Found you through My Girlish Whims!))

  7. Hmm it seems like your website ate my first comment (it
was extremely long) so I guess I'll just sum it up what I wrote and say, I'm thoroughly enjoying
your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog writer but I'm still new to everything. Do you have any helpful hints for first-time blog writers? I'd definitely appreciate
    it.
